Canaon IS..(S1 and now S2) are awesome cameras. They've got raving reviews...and how true..the pictures are great...Had there been a longer exposure for the fireworks..it would have been a masterpiece.

PS - Closeup in S1-IS have an yellowish tinge.. Did you experience it? I had the problem and I returned the camera..!

I have been eyeing the SI S2 for a while now since its launch. Seems too good to be true. The size alone is the problem.

And Jagan(jaganlee.blogspot.com) has been gushing abot the SI 1S ever since he got it. No wonder. Great photos.

Dhanks Subbu..

Narayanan,

thanks for the comment. The exposure was set at the max I knew: 15 seconds..where I screwed up was in timing my shutter release..

As for close-ups, the ones that I tried were all during bright daylight and none of them gave me that kind of yellowish tinge issue..probably you got the wrong end of the normal probability distribution for defective product!

Ranga,

As a camera thats recommended as a stepping stone toward an SLR..I guess this is as good as it gets with regard to size..While its true that its not pocket-sized, I have never had trouble handling it anywhere I needed to. I would gush about it too, but I am far too much of a novice with regard to cameras to know any better...

Saranyan and Kary..

Dhanks!
